Samara’s Peril Book Review + Author Interview!

Hello everyone! Today I have the pleasure of participating in the blog tour for Jaye L. Knight’s action-packed release, Samara’s Peril.

When news arrives that Emperor Daican has been in contact with his chief war strategist, it signals potential doom for the country of Samara. Determined to intervene, the resistance in Landale, headed by Lady Anne, embark on a covert mission in hopes of unearthing further information. However, a shocking discovery leads to complications no one could have foreseen.

Armed with their newfound knowledge, they set out for Samara to warn the king. War is inevitable, and they must face two desperate battles–one on the walls of Samara’s great stronghold, and the other on the battlefield of Jace’s heart, where victory might only be achievable through great sacrifice.

This book is probably my favorite in the series. If you realized how much I love the previous two, then you’d realize that that’s saying a lot.

Samara’s Peril starts out a bit slowly, but it quickly turns into heart pounding action that you won’t be able to put down. Or, as I like to call it, the point of no return. Once the action has started, it doesn’t stop until the book is over, so be prepared for procrastination.

I’d also like to advise you to read this book in private. If you have, how shall I say it, over emotional responses like I do, then you need to read it away from people. I say this cause there is a shocking discovery in this book and I was screaming. I may or may not have woken up my sister who sleeps in the room above me. Just some friendly advice.

And Jayrin. *happy fangirl sigh* They are just adorable in this book. ^-^

Samara’s Peril is really powerful. We are introduced to a certain recognizable character that is involved in most of the happenings in this book. (If you’ve read the book, I think you’ll understand.) I found the parts he was in fascinating and meaningful.

In short, Samara’s Peril is a powerful, action-packed read that will melt your heart.

Now for the interview!

  1. If you could trade places with any of your characters for a day, who would you choose?

Probably Kyrin because I would love to spend the day with Jace. :) Or with Kaden. Jace and I might be too similar and too introverted to really have much fun unless someone more outgoing like Kaden was there too. Or Talas! Yes, I’d enjoy spending time with Talas. :)

  1. If you could read only one genre for the rest of your life, what genre would you choose?

Fantasy. I mostly read fantasy as it is now, and it’s definitely the genre I would least want to give up.

  1. Which scene in Samara’s Peril was the hardest to write?

Well, this book includes a Savior character, and those were probably the hardest scenes to write. I mean, how exactly does one feel qualified to write such a thing? Plus you don’t know how readers will respond. I never plan to including such storylines in my stories, that’s just what I was called to do in Ilyon Chronicles, but I admit I kind of hope this will be the last story like that.

  1. Which character is the most unpredictable?

Probably Prince Daniel. Sometimes I’m shocked by the things that come out of his mouth. It’s fun. Either that or Princess Davira. She is freaky scary, even to me.

Thank you so much, Jaye, for stopping by! :D

  1. Yes, there are definitely overly emotional responses! I was reading it when some certain scenes happened (one Jayrin, and the other just Jace) and my brother had the unfortunates of happening to come up then at just that moment. Least to say, if I ever call my younger brother while simultaneously squealing, he’s not gonna come. ;)

  2. Oh my goodness! I LOVED this book! Thanks Hope and Jaye for this fun post!

Thank you so much for having me on your blog and sharing your review! I laughed at the fact that you may have woken your sister. :D

    • You’re very welcome. ^-^ It was a pleasure to have you!
*nervous chuckle* Yeah. I’ll have to ask her if I actually did wake her.

  4. I love your blog posts! This is no exception. I love your review. I screamed in a pillow at that shocking discovery. I had started to guess it like the page before, but still SO SHOCKING!

Unpredictable Daniel! *laughs evilly* Way to go, Daniel! I can’t wait to see more of him. Fantastic interview.
